AITUC protests demanding to fulfill request of sanitary workers in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: AITUC workers staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore Pappanaickenpudur Ward Office, stressing to fulfill demands sanitary workers.
Coimbatore Pappanaickenpudur Ward Office Former AITUC District Secretary Chandran and Murugan led the protest. Their demands included that sanitary workers should be tested with oximeters and thermometers daily and 25 lakh relief should be provided to the families of sanitary workers who die due to the disease.

They also demanded a government job for one person in the family. The medical department should provide incentives to all types of health cleaners according to the government. Demands were made that all safety equipment, including daily face shields, be provided. The protest was held before going to work yesterday, following the submission of the petition containing these demands to the Collector on June 7th.
