Gang arrested for selling ganja and accused who tried to flee stabbed in Coimbatore: Police investigates closed.
Coimbatore: Police rounded up and arrested those who sold ganja in the Ganapathy,Coimbatore. One who tried to flee was stabbed in the incident and police are investigating.
The incident has caused a stir in the area. Parthasarathy (23) alias Parthiban, son of Duraisamy of Ganapathy Pudur area next to Ganapathy, Coimbatore. Rajesh from Ratnapuri has fallen in love with Parthiban's sister and his schoolmate Gayathri. Parthiban and Gayatri's father found out about this and called Rajesh a few months ago and warned him. This created an enmity between Rajesh and Parthiban. Parthiban was in the business of selling ganja.
Parthiban was selling ganja with his associates in a Otha Puliyamaram area in Ganapathy yesterday. Saravanampatti police were patrolling the area at the time. As Parthiban and his accomplices were standing suspiciously, police called and questioned them. As they answered contradictively, police investigated and found that they had kept ganja for sale and hid it in a suitcase.
As police rounded them up, Parthiban escaped from their grasp and went into Dasar street and hid. Rajesh and his friends Sabari and some others who were there at the time thought that Parthiban had come there in search of them and caused trouble. This led to a dispute between Parthiban and Rajesh. At the end of the argument, Rajesh, Sabari and his accomplices started attacking Parthiban. He was also stabbed in the head and neck with a knife. Parthiban was severely injured and lay there in a pool of blood.
Those nearby informed the police and he was rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital by an ambulance. When police went there to investigate, it was revealed that the person who stabbed Parthiban who escaped when police rounded up him while he was selling ganja was Rajesh and Sabari, among others.
Following this, the police arrested Rajesh and Sabari for stabbing Parthiban with a knife. Police also arrested Parthiban's ganja sales associates Nitin (23), son of Rajan of Avarampalayam Sowdeswari Nagar area, Prakash (24), son of Thangaraj of Jayaprakash Nagar area of Ganapathy and Pragathiswarar (23), son of Loganathan of Ganapathy Raju Road. Police also seized 6 kg of ganja, cell phones and a suitcase which they had for sale. Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are investigating.
