Coimbatore: With over 300 people affected by the second wave of Covid-19 infection in Valparai, Coimbatore district and more than 12 people succumbing to the virus, various activities were being carried out on behalf of the Valparai Municipal Health Department and the Police Department to prevent further spread of the Covid virus.

In spite of this, a large crowd gathered at the Valparai municipal office premises today with 50 nutrition workers arriving at the Valparai municipal office without adhering to social distancing norms to check about the workplaces allotted to them. Social activists decried the folly of these workers who could have probably put everyone gathered there at risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus.
