SP Velumani accuses that AIADMK is being stopped from providing relief assistance to people during lockdown

Coimbatore: Coimbatore district AIADMK handed over 25 oxygen concentrators to Coimbatore district administration yesterday.

10 MLAs led by former minister SP Velumani handed over oxygen concentrators to Coimbatore District Collector Nagarajan. Later, former minister SP Velumani met reporters and said, "We have asked the collector to take action to save the people."

He said, "AIADMK MLAs are being detained while providing assistance to the public during the Coronavirus period. Police stopped a vehicle spraying disinfectant in Thondamuthur, and refused permission to distribute vegetables in Sulur.

DMK is stopping MLAs from providing assistance to the general public in the Kavundampalayam constituency. Cases are high in Coimbatore district. Positive cases are sent as negative and who died of Covid-19 after receiving treatment are termed negative after death. This denies the public of even getting the subsidy as it was certified as negative after death. DMK is intervening in vaccination works, ration shops and false accusations are made against AIADMK for reprimanding. AIADMK legislators are not being summoned if inspections take place in Coimbatore district."

He said that the District Collector should take action to control coronavirus infection in Coimbatore district. Former Minister SP Velumani said that the police should stop the false cases being filed due to the pressure from DMK.
