Coimbatore: Health officials have sealed a laboratory in Pollachi which was conducting corona testing without permission and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the blood bank for not following the instructions.


Coimbatore: Health officials have sealed a laboratory in Pollachi which was conducting corona testing without permission and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the blood bank for not following the instructions.

Pollachi complained that the corona did not follow the guidelines at the private testing center near the Gandhi statue. Following this, on the orders of the Pollachi Collector and the Municipal Commissioner, the health officials conducted an inspection there.



It was then revealed that at that private blood and x-ray examination center, medical waste, including medical equipment and masks used in the laboratory, was not disposed of properly without following the social gap.

It was also revealed that proper permission had not been obtained to conduct the test at this center. Following this, the authorities sealed off the private testing center and took action.

Similarly, the Pollachi Blood Bank in Pollachi Palaniappa Lay-out did not follow the proper guidelines and the health department officials imposed a fine of Rs 25,000.
