Forest Minister grants Rs. 3.50 lakhs to family of victim killed in an elephant attack near Valparai
Coimbatore: At the time of elephant victim Vanathai’s funeral, Rs. 50,000 was granted as relief to Vanathai’s kin. Vanathai had died after being attacked by an elephant on April 15 in Kumati tribal village near Valparai in Coimbatore district.
Forest Minister Ramachandran who was inspecting the area visited Vanathai’s kin and handed over a cheque of Rs. 3.50 lakhs to Vanathai's daughter. Anaimalai Tiger Reserve Additional Chief Forest Officer and Field Director I Anwardeen, Pollachi Forest Division Deputy Director Arokiya Xavier were also present.
