Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has allocated Rs. 25 crores from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the purchase of medicines to treat black fungus infections.


Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has allocated Rs. 25 crores from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the purchase of medicines to treat black fungus infections.

According to a press release issued by the Government, "Chief Minister M K Stalin has thanked donors who have thus far contributed Rs. 280.20 crores to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund which is being used only for Covid-19 treatment purposes.

Of this, Rs.141.40 crores had already been allocated for COVID-19 treatment and now Rs. 25 crores is being allocated for the purchase of drugs for the treatment of black fungus infections. The CM has ordered that all life-saving medicines, including amphotericin required for the treatment of black fungus infections be purchased immediately."
