Coimbatore: The lack of Covid vaccine stock in Coimbatore district has left locals disappointed
Coimbatore: The lack of ample Covid vaccine stock in Coimbatore district has disappointed many enthusiastic people who wished to get vaccinated.
The Tamil Nadu government has provided 83,700 vaccines to the Coimbatore district since April21. Of these, 82,573 have been vaccinated between 18 and 45 years of age. 5,27,189 vaccines have been administered to people above 45 years of age, till date.
In Coimbatore district, 48,000 vaccinations were received from the Central Government at 124 vaccination centers, including 88 primary health centers and 36 schools under the Corporation. Vaccination drives at vaccination centers in Coimbatore district have been suspended since Monday due to the district administration not having enough vaccines in stock. Following this, notice boards have been put up at vaccination centers stating that there was no vaccine stock.
As a result, many members of the public who had to be vaccinated at various places including Rajaveedi, Ramanathapuram and Nanchundapuram returned home disappointed.
