Valparai Municipal Commissioner goes door-to-door to test people for flu-like symptoms to prevent further spread of Covid infections
Coimbatore: With the Covid-19 infection being on the rise in Valparai area of Coimbatore district, over 25 people succumbed to the virus while 300 people were treated and cured. The tea estate workers in Valparai are more prone to the risk of contracting the virus, and yet they are unable to have the infection diagnosed early to get to the hospital for timely treatment.
In this context, to curb the spread of the Coronavirus infection and prevent further casualties, the Valparai Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kumar along with the Health Physician, Dr. Babu Lakshmanan and College Principal Ramesh have called in college students to volunteer and appointed two people for each estate section.


In addition, they also went door-to-door and ensured that people in the house were checked by doctors. Those who seemed to have contracted even a flu were treated. Volunteers were provided with safety equipment as well as flu-testing equipment.
