Two arrested and booked under POCSO act for sexually assaulting 2 girls in Pollachi
Coimbatore: Saravanakumar (28) and his cousin Chinnathurai (30) from Bethanaickkanur near Pollachi worked for a private company near Coimbatore. He was acquainted with two 15-year-old girls who worked with him there at the time. The parents lodged a complaint at the Pollachi Women's Police Station yesterday that the two girls were missing.
Following this Saravanakumar and Chinnathurai, who were in hiding, were arrested and the girls were released. Later, an investigation into the girls revealed that they had been sexually assaulted. The two arrested were prosecuted under the POCSO Act, produced in the Coimbatore Magistrate's Court and remanded in custody.
