Number of Covid-infected people isolated in Coimbatore has dropped from 27,000 to 23,000: Health Officials
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, the number of people being isolated at home has declined with the number of asymptomatic cases also dropping down.
Currently 23,251 people are isolated in their homes, even as Covid-19 infection have crossed 1.80 lakhs in Coimbatore district. Of these, more than 1.50 lakh people have recovered thus far. The daily number of cases in Coimbatore is on the decline, with active cases dropping from 3000 to 2600, daily. Those who have been confirmed as infected are being treated at Government Hospitals and Coronavirus treatment centers.
In addition, Coronavirus patients are also being treated at over 50 private hospitals in the district. Not only Coimbatore residents, but also people from other districts are being treated in private hospitals in Coimbatore. Health officials and Corporation officials have been issuing permits to isolate people who have been diagnosed without symptoms.
A district administration official said, “In the last few weeks, 27,000 people have been isolated in their homes in Coimbatore district. Currently the number of people who are asymptomatic is declining. Presently 23,251 people are isolated in their homes."
