Shops selling essential items open in Pollachi following the announcement of relaxations
Coimbatore: As the number of Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is declining, the government has relaxed the lockdown.
Following this, essential shops selling vegetables and groceries have been opened from 6 am in the areas including Pollachi bazaar, Chattram Road and Market Road. Merchants are happy that the shops are open after about 15 days. However, the traders' association has decided to keep the shops open only till 2 pm to prevent the spread of the disease.
The public who come to buy essential items are asked to follow the prevention measures. Health and revenue officials have warned that action will be taken against the public and shop owners who violate the prevention measures.
