Four persons were arrested for stealing soil from a puddle area in Komangalam next to Pollachi; All vehicles including JCB confiscated.
Coimbatore: The Coronavirus Prevention Team including Revenue and Police led by Pollachi Zonal Deputy Tahsildar Saravanan were patrolling the Komangalam-Sangampalayam road near Pollachi when they noticed that a group of people were dumping gravel in a puddle area located in a state-owned area using JCBs and tractors. On enquiry, it was revealed to the officers that the soil was being levelled in the puddle area and that too without proper permission.
Following a complaint lodged by the officers of the Komangalam police station, the police arrested four men including Arun Kumar, Kanagaraj, Baskaran and Ramakrishnan from Seelakampatti and confiscated two tractors and the JCB machine used by the men to fill the soil. They also registered a case against the four persons involved citing illegal land theft and lodged them in the Avinashi branch jail.
