Repeat offenders violating lockdown restrictions forced to undergo Covid-19 tests as punishment by Valparai police
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government had declared a complete lockdown in Valparai to control the second wave of Covid-19, and even banks, dairy, pharmacies and ration shops were not allowed to operate. In spite of restrictions, a large number of people from all walks of life are flocking to Valparai.
The Valparai police, led by Inspector Maheshwari have set up roadblocks and are conducting vehicle inspections. They record the registration numbers of incoming vehicles and vehicles that do not have permission to enter Valparai are sent back. Vehicles that are repeat offenders are fined, and action is now being initiated against those who roam unnecessarily on the roads. One such action includes the police sending 13 people to the Coronavirus Care Center at Valparai Government College for a Covid test as punishment for violating the complete lockdown restrictions.
