Central government should provide necessary vaccines to Tamil Nadu without delay: MP PR Natarajan
Coimbatore: As the people of Tamil Nadu are eager to vaccinate against coronavirus, it is not appropriate for the Central Government not to provide the required vaccines within the stipulated time. Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan demanded that the Central Government should immediately provide the number requested by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
The second wave of coronavirus spread rapidly in the Coimbatore district. The district administration is taking serious action to bring this under control. In order to give confidence to the health workers, MK Stalin visited the Coimbatore district twice within 20 days of taking office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and expedited the work. Similarly, the Minister of Food and the Minister of Forests are staying and working in the Coimbatore district. Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan of the Marxist Party continued to attend the meeting and give advice.
He has been carrying out field work including bringing to the notice of the district administration the demand coming from the public. As part of this, he visited the corona vaccination camp in areas including Siddhapudur and Masakalipalayam in Coimbatore on Friday. He also congratulated and encouraged the health workers working there.
As he said earlier, people in Tamil Nadu are showing great interest in getting vaccinated. The interest of the people to get vaccinated has increased as even the road block protest in Coimbatore district demanding that all of us be vaccinated is taking place. But the central government is refusing to provide the required vaccine to Tamil Nadu. The BJP-ruled states, which have a smaller population than Tamil Nadu, are increasingly being vaccinated.
But Tamil Nadu has a limited supply of vaccines. Only state vaccines are now being offered. The central government continues to ignore Tamil Nadu and discriminate. He said it is not enough for the Prime Minister to brag that we will vaccinate everyone. Action must be taken accordingly. He said BJP leaders in Tamil Nadu should stop criticizing the state DMK government and give a voice to the central government to fulfill our Tamil Nadu demand.
Earlier, an event was held at Coimbatore ESI Hospital to distribute 1,000 bottles of drinking water to medical staff on behalf of the HMS union. This was initiated by Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan. Rajamani, President of the HMS Association, took the lead. ESI Hospital Chief Raveendran, Marxist Party Coimbatore District Secretary V. Ramamurthy and Executive Committee Member R. Velusamy also participated.
