CREDAI Coimbatore chapter sets up 200 oxygenated beds in the Covid ward in GCT


Coimbatore: The confederation of real estate developers association of India (CREDAI) Coimbatore chapter on Saturday set up as many as 200 beds for Covid patients in the newly implemented Covid ward in Government college of technology.



According to the sources, all the beds are fixed with oxygen support. The Covid wards at government college of technology was built due to the increase in cases and to manage the overflow of patients at hospitals.

Speaking with SimpliCity, CREDAI Coimbatore chapter president Guhan said, the initiative to set up beds came upon the request from the government.



“We were requested by the government of Tamil Nadu to contribute beds in order to manage counts and save patients from suffering. We provided 250 beds filled with oxygen support.”, said Guhan.

Since we are working for infrastructure, we provided beds, said Guhan upon being asked if they have any plans to provide free ambulances in future. Earlier, the CREDAI Coimbatore chapter has also donated as many as 200 beds to ESI hospital and 100 beds to the Covid ward in Government Arts College, he added.

Over all the real estate developers have donated 550 beds to Covid patients in Coimbatore at a cost of around 1.5 crore. Besides, the CREDAI have also contributed in providing beds to the patients in cities like Chennai, Tiruchirappalli and Erode.
