Coronavirus Testing Center operating without permission sealed in Pollachi: Municipal Urban Health Officers
Coimbatore: Due to the increasing prevalence of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu, government and private corona testing centers have been set up with government approval to conduct coronavirus tests for those with symptoms of infection.
A private testing center was operating on the Pollachi New Project Road without proper permission. The public complained to the Pollachi Urban Health Office that the test results provided there were not proper. Upon investigation by the authorities it was revealed that the laboratory was operating without authorization and they did not provide valid test results for all of the mucus and blood samples they took.
It was also revealed that the drug waste was stored at the testing center without following the guidelines laid down by the government.
Officers then evacuated the staff there and sealed off the testing center. Social activists have demanded that the district administration take action against the laboratories operating in the Pollachi area as they are operating without following the guidelines issued by the government and without proper permission.
