Public and motorists urge forest officers to find a permanent solution to lion-tailed monkeys that stray on roads
Coimbatore: More than a hundred lion-tailed monkeys roam the main road every morning and evening in the Valparai urban area of Coimbatore district, constantly jumping across the passage of ambulances and various vehicles while fighting for food. It is urged that necessary action should be taken before danger occurs.
Many times when a complaint is made by phone to the forest officials everything is chased into the forest by the forest staff. When they leave they will come back into the city.

But there is a demand from the public and motorists for a permanent solution and a request has been made to the forest department on behalf of the All Traders Association of Valparai area that there will be numerous consequences in case of an accident.
