Protests erupt across Coimbatore district condemning Modi government for enforcing CAA law
Coimbatore: Protests were staged across Coimbatore in front of houses with protesters carrying banners from 10.30 am to 10.45 am on June 2.
The protesters condemned the Modi-led government for enforcing the CAA Act in 13 states. On behalf of TMMK, protests were held in Ukkadam, Karumbukkadai, Athupalam, Kuniyamuthur, Selvapuram, Sulur, Ondipudur and Mettupalayam.
TMMK Coimbatore North District Chairman, E Ahmad Kabir led the protests. The Secretary of State, Sadiq Ali, TMMK District Secretary Mujibur Rahman, Makkal Manithaneya Katchi Jem Babu, District Treasurer Abbas, Deputy Chairman Sirajuddin, TMMK Deputy Secretaries Zakul, Razak, Ashiq Ahmed, MMK District Deputy Secretaries Bashir, Nooruddin, Abdul Hakeem, and District Team Executives, area executives and other TMC members chanted slogans carrying black flags in front of homes, along with women and children. Strict social distancing was followed during the protest.
