Authorities seal six factories in Tirupur for violating lockdown rules


Tirupur: Authorities have sealed off six factories that violated the curfew imposed by the Tamil Nadu government.

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a complete curfew till June 7. Authorities closed and sealed off six plants that had acted in violation of the regulations without noticing it. In the Palladam area, the Revenue Department ‘sealed’ five power looms and a yarn mill that were operating in violation of curfew restrictions.

In the Palladam area of Tirupur district, there are a large number of factories including loom, sizing and spinning based on the production of kata cloth. The day before yesterday, the authorities were informed that some factories were operating in violation of the curfew. Revenue officials, led by Tashildar Devaraj, conducted the midnight inspection. It was revealed that five power looms and a yarn mill were operating with the workers. Following that, all six plants were ‘sealed’. Six factories were fined Rs 5,000 each.
