Pollachi Forest Department investigates mysterious death of six peacocks
Coimbatore: The Pollachi Forest Department is investigating the mysterious death of peacocks in a private garden in the Panapatti village under the Pollachi Forest Reserve near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district.
On receiving information about dead peacocks, forest officials went to the village of Panapatti and found seven peacocks dead in a private garden. All the peacocks have been sent for autopsy to determine if they could have been poisoned. A wildlife crime case has been registered.

The Forest Department has also assured locals that they would initiate immediate action to find and punish those who could have killed the peacocks once the results of the autopsy are made available.
