Coimbatore: Air Arabia has announced that it will operate only two flights between Coimbatore and Sharjah from June 1 to June 15 due to low number of passengers.
According to airport sources, the number of passengers has dropped due to the second wave of Covid-19 that has heavily impacted Coimbatore district. Airline costs are feasible only if flights have more than 100 passengers. Due to this, frequent flights between Coimbatore and Sharjah were cancelled last month.
Air Arabia has decided to operate only two flights, one per week from June 1 to 15 since the current situation of people preferring not to travel due to Covid scare remains. Passengers on both these flights can reach Coimbatore from Sharjah. None of the passengers will be able to board the flight from Coimbatore on its way back. Only cargo is allowed," reiterated airport sources.
