Confederation of Trade Unions request District Collector to issue an official notice on whether the already licensed factories can operate or not
Coimbatore: The Co-ordinator of the Coimbatore District Confederation of Trade Unions (FOCIA), J James issued a statement saying, “The Coimbatore district administration had issued a statement on 31.5.2021 in the wake of the increasing Coronavirus cases in Coimbatore.
It was announced that all micro and small businesses operating in Coimbatore would be shut down following the announcement of a ban on the operation of factories in Coimbatore, including medical manufacturing, agricultural production and export manufacturing. When contacted by district officials they were notified that it was alright to operate factories that are already permitted. Also, a new order has been issued by the Head of the district administration on 1.6.2021. Thus, small businesses that are facing many crises are facing serious problems without knowing what to do.
Therefore, as far as the district administration is concerned, the Head of the district administration should immediately issue a proper guideline notice through the press and television regarding the operation of the factories," he added in the statement.
