Association district Head submits petition to District Collector's Office seeking incentives and safety equipment for midday meals staff declared as frontline employees
Coimbatore: As the spread of the Covid-19 is increasing in Coimbatore district, the district administration has appointed midday meals staff and assistants as frontline staff.
The petition was filed on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Midday Meals Workers Union at the Pollachi District Collectorate yesterday.

According to the petition, the nutrition workers have been appointed as frontline workers and are engaged in door-to-door inspections. Thus they are at risk of spreading the disease and therefore demanded that immunizations such as masks, gloves and sanitizers should be provided, Rs 25 lakh should be provided to the deceased.
District Chairman Sivasamy, District Secretary Navamani Devi and Treasurer Manjula Bai and others, filed a petition at the Collector's Office demanding an incentive of Rs 15,000.
