The Nilgiris: In a noble gesture to help the Nilgiris community face the onslaught of the pandemic, the Nilgiris Rotary Club donated toward setting up a state-of-the-art dialysis treatment center that has 6 beds with dialysis facilities at the Government Lawley Hospital, at a cost of Rs. 73 lakhs.
The Nilgiris: In a noble gesture to help the Nilgiris community face the onslaught of the pandemic, the Nilgiris Rotary Club donated toward setting up a state-of-the-art dialysis treatment center that has 6 beds with dialysis facilities at the Government Lawley Hospital, at a cost of Rs. 73 lakhs.
The Center was visited by the District Collector, Innocent Divya on Monday. There are no specialised treatment centers for patients with kidney failure in Nilgiris district and such patients always had to be rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital or other private hospitals for dialysis treatment.
To help meet this need, the Nilgiris Rotary Club has come forward with this initiative of a specialised dialysis treatment center at Coonoor's Government Lawley Hospital. District Collector Innocent Divya later addressed the media lauding the noble gesture of the Nilgiris Rotary Club and said, "This Center is a great boon to the district and people in the district will continue to benefit if private charities volunteer to do such social service."
