"6,000 vaccines available for 18-44 year olds may be dispatched on June 1 in Coimbatore district:" District Collector
Coimbatore:The Coimbatore District Collector S Nagarajan announced at a media conference on Monday that Coimbatore could soon be getting 6000 vaccines that will be available for 18-44 year olds. The Coimbatore District Collector said that the front line personnel who visit homes to monitor fever symptoms in people will be vaccinated on Wednesday.
Addressing the media, the District Collector said, "We expect 6,000 vaccines to be available in Coimbatore district on June 1, for people between the ages of 18 and 44. But the vaccines will first be administered to front-line employees who go door-to-door and inspect homes for fever symptoms. The second phase is to give importance to those who provide groceries in all the areas of the district.
Already, we are going to companies, business organizations and vaccinating employees. Nationalized banks and co-operative bank employees are also scheduled to be vaccinated on Wednesday or Thursday. Vaccines for people over 45 years of age are not in stock and if 10,000 vaccines are received, 300 vaccines each will be given at 31 primary health centers in the Corporation.
In addition, there are 88 centers across the district where vaccinations are administered at health centers across the district. Vaccines will be sent to all centers when adequate vaccination stock arrives," he reassures.
