Minister A Sakkarapani inaugurates Coronavirus treatment center equipped with 400 beds and oxygen facility in CODISSIA; Issues appointment order to 15 doctors on contract basis
Coimbatore: The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, R Sakkarapani inaugurated a Coronavirus treatment unit which has 400 beds with oxygen facility at the CODISSIA campus and issued appointment orders on contract basis to 15 doctors to serve in preventing the spread of the pandemic.

Asymptomatic Covid-19 patients are being treated through both Allopathy and Siddha medicines at the Coimbatore CODISSIA campus. 1286 beds have been set up in four halls for patients to be treated. Of these, 400 beds have oxygen concentrators. After inspecting the facility, the Minister enquired with the ESI Hospital Dean, Dr. Raveendran about the facilities provided to patients at the CODISSIA premises.


The Ministeralso issued a work order of Rs. 60,000 per month for 15 doctors in the first phase, and 75 doctors have been selected on contract basis to help in caring for Covid-19 patients in Coimbatore district.
