Coimbatore: The Revenue Department has imposed fines on people roaming in vehicles in violation of the complete curfew rules in Kinathukadavu which had been clamped across Coimbatore district.

Various measures are being taken on behalf of the Revenue Department and the police to prevent the increasing incidence of fresh Covid-19 infections especially in the Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore district. The police have imposed fines on those who roam in vehicles unnecessarily during the lockdown period and their vehicles have been confiscated.

But since public continue to flout rules and are constantly wandering out unnecessarily, the Revenue Department and the police conducted a joint vehicle inspection in Kinathukadavu check post area on Monday.

Motorists on two-wheelers were fined by the Revenue Department, while police also stopped cars and other vehicles entering the city from outstation at the check posts to see if the travellers had e-passes.
