Explosives goes off severely injuring three in Coonoor
Coimbatore: Three persons, including Kannan 30, Abu 25 and Sri 10, were admitted to the Coonoor Government Hospital after an explosive device exploded on Siddhi Vinayagar Temple Street in Coonoor, Nilgiris. Police are investigating the incident.
More than a hundred families live in the Siddhi Vinayagar Temple area near the Coonoor bus stand. Kannan and Abu were making explosives with wires in a locked house. A 10-year-old boy named Sree, who was having fun outside the house, was critically injured and all three were admitted to the Lali Hospital in Coonoor.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh and Inspector Prithviraj Raj are conducting a thorough investigation into Kannan and Abu as the wires were wrapped around the explosives.
