Police Commissioner orders policemen to reach out to retired and elderly police officials to help them during pandemic crisis
Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police, Deepak Damore has directed all police stations to locate houses where elderly and retired policemen are staying during the pandemic and provide them with all necessary assistance.
On the basis of this order, on May 25, a police constable from the Kuniyamuthur police station visited the residence of retired Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sundararajan of Kuniyamuthur Police Station and enquired about his health and other needs. He was also provided with phone numbers and offered immediate help from the police station in the event of any need.
The retired Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police who was moved by the noble gesture stated that this was the first time he had witnessed such humane action by serving policemen for the elderly and retired policemen. The retired police official posted the above incident on social media and extended his congratulations and appreciation to the Coimbatore Police Commissioner for the initiative.
