Farmers in Coimbatore stage 'black flag' protests condemning the 3 new agricultural laws introduced by Central Government
Coimbatore: Farmers in various parts of Coimbatore district staged 'black flag' protests demanding the repeal of the three new agricultural laws introduced by the Central Government.
Palanisamy, the co-ordinator of the All India Farmers' Coordination Committee on behalf of the Coimbatore district said, 'In support of farmers struggling in the capital, Delhi, to demand the withdrawal of the three new agricultural schemes introduced by the Modi government and those across the country, we chanted slogans condemning the Central Government and hoisting black flags in all farmers' houses and farms, but by adhering to social distancing.'
In Coimbatore district, thousands of farmers from Mettupalayam, Karamadai, Sultanpet, Sulur, Pollachi and Thondamuthur took part in the protest. They insisted that the Government of Tamil Nadu should withdraw the cases filed against the farmers who fought against this law in Tamil Nadu.
