"Covid-19 preventive measures ought to become a people's movement:" Tirupur Exporters Association President, Raja M Shanmugam
Tirupur: Raja M Shanmugam, President of the Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) in an awareness video that was released stated that with the ever-increasing spread of the Covid-19 infection with every passing day, preventive measures to combat the virus ought to become a people's movement rather than addressing it with medical attention after the onset of the disease. He believed that this alone could be the permanent solution to the pandemic.
In an interview with SimpliCity, the TEA President said, "The spread of Coronavirus infections have had a devastating effect on all sectors, business as well as friends to relatives, or even just talking to each other. In Tirupur district, more than 6 lakh workers are employed in various companies. For the past one year, following the first wave of Covid-19, all companies have been following the guidelines issued by the Government to prevent the spread of the virus.
Unfortunately the second wave of the spread of the disease has had the biggest impact due to the negligence of people. Aside from seeking medical attention after the onset of the disease, preventive measures must become a people's movement. That is the permanent solution to this infection. I have released an awareness video about this."
"In the video, I have mentioned the need to gargle morning and night a mixture of a little salt and a little turmeric powder in hot water. If there is a layer of salt in the throat, the virus will die as soon as it enters. We have to start implementing this at the gateway in all companies. Thus, those who enter the industry should enter after rinsing their mouths with this water and then once again upon leaving. By following such a procedure, one can prevent the transmission of the disease from one person to another.
Applying a small amount of coconut oil on the inside of the nose every morning and evening can prevent the virus from passing through the nose. Both these processes are very easy for everyone to follow. Apart from these, everyone must follow the guidelines issued by the Government, including wearing a mask and following social distancing. Doing so will help you to recover quickly from the infection. This requires the cooperation of all and prevention should start with each individual," reiterated Raja M Shanmugam in the video.
