Isha honourably cremates those who succumbed to Covid-19 since last year
Coimbatore: The corpses of Covid-19 victims are being cremated with due honours in 18 cemeteries operated by Isha in Tamil Nadu.
The employees who work at these cemeteries have reportedly been doing this service for over a year at the risk of their lives. 'Sadhguru' Jaggi Vasudev tweeted about this service saying, "In the Isha Cemeteries, volunteers work tirelessly to free the departed from the subtle environment. This is very important for the living and the departed. Blessings!"
Isha maintains 12 cemeteries in Coimbatore, 4 in Chennai, one each in Namakkal and Neyveli, totalling to 18 cemeteries. Isha has been providing salaries and medical assistance to the staff working there. Also, all the cemeteries are well maintained and clean.
The cremation service for Covid-19 victims has been carried out for the last one year. The staff there have been performing this challenging task very safely under Isha's cooperation and guidance. Isha is paying extra attention to their physical well-being.
They are taken care of by providing kabasura water, groundnut infusion, providing nutritious food, teaching yoga exercises to boost the immune system, and providing immediate medical assistance when needed. Also, they cremate the bodies of the deceased with utmost respect due to Isha’s proper training and are also gentle with the relatives of the deceased.
Isha's brahmacharis and volunteers support this work and the place is kept sacred like a temple with a Kala Bhairava shrine in the premises.
It is reported that the relatives of the deceased who visit the cemetery have deep appreciation for the initiative of the Isha staff in honouring the deceased by giving them a decent cremation.
