Public suffer as Corporation's vegetable vending vehicles do not arrive in Cheran Ma Nagar in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Even as complete lockdown has been enforced due to the spread of the Covid-19 infection, in the interest of the people, the Government of Tamil Nadu has taken steps to sell vegetables and fruits through mobile vehicles.
There are several thousand dwellings in Cheran Ma Nagar and its surrounding areas under the East Zone of Coimbatore Corporation. Mobile vegetable vendors had not arrived for the past three days causing inconvenience to the people. Due to the complete lockdown, people are reportedly using vegetables and fruits bought on Sundays.
Taking advantage of this environment, a few traders are indirectly selling vegetables and groceries in the Cheran Ma Nagar area. The public in the area have insisted that Corporation officials should immediately inspect the Cheran Ma Nagar area and ensure that vegetables and fruits are available to the people on a daily basis.
