Municipality distributes vegetables through 15 mobile vehicles in 36 wards of Pollachi


Coimbatore: In accordance with lockdown rules as stipulated by the Tamil Nadu government to curb further spread of Covid-19 infections, the municipality in Pollachi began distributing vegetables and fruits door-to-door through mobile vehicles to make them available to the public without any hindrance.



Pollachi municipality has 36 wards and in order to distribute vegetables and fruits to all areas, vegetables are procured through the Department of Agriculture and Uzhvar Sandhai, and distributed to all areas ward-wise through 15 vehicles. Officials stated that steps have been taken to make all vegetables available at affordable prices and a committee has been set up to monitor if traders are selling vegetables at higher prices.
