Police impose fine on people loitering unnecessarily in Valparai
Coimbatore: Even as a major share of stores and shops remain shut in Valparai adhering to the Tamil Nadu government's imposition of a complete lockdown to curb the second wave of Covid-19, some section of the public are seen roaming the streets unnecessarily.
While bank, dairy, pharmacies and ration shops are allowed to operate, a large number of people continue to violate Covid-19 safety measures and hence the Valparai police led by Inspector Maheshwari have set up barricades and are conducting vehicle inspections to record the registration numbers of incoming vehicles.
Vehicles that are on the move for no emergency purposes whatsoever are sent back and fines are imposed on those loitering in the streets. Police state that such spot fines have curbed unnecessary vehicular and public movement in Valparai.
