Covid-19 Treatment Centre with 150-bed facility in Valparai inaugurated by MP Shanmugasundaram
Coimbatore: A Covid-19 Treatment Center in Valparai is being set up to tackle the ever-increasing Covid-19 positive cases in Valparai, Coimbatore district.
The Center which is equipped with 150 beds and set up at Valparai Government Arts College campus became operational as of Monday. MP Shanmugasundaram inspected the Coronavirus Treatment Center's beds, toilet and medical facilities.
Currently, 170 people have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus and are being treated in hospitals in places like Pollachi and Coimbatore. About 15 people have already succumbed to the virus in Valparai. The Tamil Nadu Government has also instructed districts to establish Coronavirus Treatment Centers since some districts have been worst-hit.
The event was attended by MP Shanmugasundaram, Tahsildhar Rajan, Dr. Babu Lakshmanan, Dr. Mahesh Anandi, DMK Coimbatore South District Officer Thenral Selvaraj, Valparai in-charge Paul Pandi, former City Council Chairman Kozhikadai Ganesan, Vadai Kadai Kutty Magudeeswaran, Jayaram, Manikandan, Venkatesh, Sekar and party executives.
