Vegetables sold at lowest prices in Coimbatore than rest of Tamil Nadu: TK Market Traders


Coimbatore: TK Market traders have announced that vegetables are being sold to the people of Coimbatore at the lowest prices in Tamil Nadu. Thiyagi Kumaran Market, also known as TK Market, has been operating in the Coimbatore Big Bazaar Road area since 1930. There are 450 stores in this area.

Large onions, tomatoes and potatoes are also brought to the market from various parts of Tamil Nadu and outstations like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. At present a complete lockdown has been imposed in Tamil Nadu to control the spread of coronavirus. Vegetables are being sold to the people of Coimbatore by mobile vehicles from wholesale markets. Vegetables are being sold from Thiyagi Kumaran Market by mobile vehicles in more than 30 wards in the city.

Rajendran, president of the TK Market All Vegetable Traders Association, said, "A complete lockdown has been imposed in the interest of the people of Tamil Nadu. The coronavirus can be controlled while all the people are at home. We are selling vegetables to the people at very low prices on behalf of the Thiyagi Kumaran Market traders. We are doing this with a service mindset. We will provide vegetables at very low prices, lower than the prices fixed by the government. The number of vehicles moving daily will also be increased."
