MP P R Natarajan insists on self-curfew in rural areas
Coimbatore: Marxist party Coimbatore MP P R Natarajan urged the district administration to take immediate action to implement self-curfew in urban and rural areas of the district.
“We all know that the second wave of Covid-19 infection is spreading most rapidly in Coimbatore district. The curfew announced by the Tamil Nadu government is in effect. But it is becoming difficult to control movement of people from the rural areas and the suburbs of Coimbatore which makes controlling the spread of the disease a huge risk. Awareness committees consisting of elected people's representatives, social activists, revenue department and police department can be set up to enforce self-curfew in village panchayat-municipality-municipality-corporation wards across the district. We believe that self-curfew within the home will only help prevent the spread of coronavirus,” requested MP P R Natarajan.
