Government buses ply from Coimbatore to outstation locations on Sunday
Coimbatore: 160 government buses were operated from Coimbatore to Madurai, Trichy, Salem and Dindigul on Sunday.
The Tamil Nadu Government had announced that no restrictions would be imposed on transport for two days and hence special buses were allowed to transport workers and public to their hometowns. Accordingly, some Government buses were operated from Coimbatore on Sunday.
On the second day, Government buses were operated from Coimbatore to Dindigul, Madurai, Karur, Namakkal, Theni and Salem. Buses were operating from Coimbatore to Palani and Udumalai from Sunday morning.
An official of the Transport Corporation said, "From Singanallur bus stand, 90 buses were operated to Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Karur and 160 buses were operated between Salem, Erode, Udumalai, Coimbatore-Mettupalayam and Coimbatore-Pollachi."
