Coimbatore Saasthaa Technical Textiles manufactured and supplied over 2000 Waterproof and Anti Viral Mattresses and Cots across Tamil Nadu as a voluntary initiative
Coimbatore: Coimbatore-based Saasthaa Technical Textiles has manufactured waterproof, anti-viral mattresses and cots for special medical camps across Tamil Nadu as a voluntary initiative, in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19.
Saasthaa M Raja, Managing Director, Saasthaa Technical Textiles, Coimbatore said, “Our company which operates in Coimbatore manufactures a wide range of products under the Technical Textiles segment including fabric used for making PPE suits and masks, and diapers for adults and children. Our company was one of the first two suppliers of fabrics used to make PPE suits and masks, and special camps are currently being set up across Tamil Nadu in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19 which has caused severe damage.
Mattresses and cots used in such camps are provided to the Government by sponsors. On behalf of our company, we are providing mattresses and cots for such sponsors at low cost without any profit motive."
“We have delivered over 2000 mattresses and cots in the last 10 days alone. All these mattresses are 'waterproof' and 'anti-viral' mattresses. No virus can enter the mattresses. Even when a patient's bodily fluids drops on the mattress, just wiping them with a cloth is enough. Our products have so far been used in various special camps including Chennai Omanthurai Government Hospital, Anna Nagar, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Perundurai, Coimbatore and Tirupur.
Mattresses and cots provided by the sponsors at the special camps being held at the Coimbatore Government Arts College campus are our company’s products. We are ready to produce and supply more products to meet the increasing demand in the coming days," added Saasthaa.
