DMK City Secretary Dr. Varadarajan pays Rs. 13 lakhs the salary of 54 medical staff working in Coronavirus Ward, Pollachi Government Hospital
Coimbatore: The second wave of coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Tamil Nadu and government hospitals are overflowing with patients. 160 coronavirus patients are being treated at Pollachi District Government General Hospital. As the number of patients continues to increase, 100 beds with oxygen facilities have been made in the newly constructed building to treat coronavirus patients.
But the lack of doctors, nurses, and staff despite the structural facilities has made it impossible to treat. A total of 54 people, including doctors and staff, were recruited during the Coronavirus. Pollachi city DMK secretary Dr Varadarajan handed over their first month's salary, Rs 10 lakh from his own pocket and Rs 3 lakh from his friends to the hospital management today.
The Chief Minister has asked the DMK to help the public during the Coronavirus period. Therefore, this amount has been given to the doctors and staff of Pollachi Hospital at present. Dr. Varadarajan said that this work will continue till the end of the coronavirus period.
