Police investigates body of an unidentified youth found in a pond in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The body of an unidentified youth was floating in Kurichi Pond which is located in the heart of the city. Police have recovered the body and are investigating.
Locals in the area who were walking on the sidewalk spotted a male corpse floating in the pond, on Thursday evening. They informed the Ukkadam police immediately regarding the corpse.
The Ukkadam police rushed to the pond to recover the body and checked if the deceased had any identity card in his shirt pocket. Since they did not find any identity card, the police are now investigating the angle of whether the youth could have been killed. The body has been sent to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy while the police continue to investigate to trace where the youth lived prior to the unfortunate incident.
