Coimbatore: The Coimbatore and Tirupur Entrepreneurs' Organization which is a role model for the country in terms of community concern has provided multi-crore financial assistance and material assistance for Covid relief and treatment.

Entrepreneurs from Coimbatore and Tirupur districts continue to pour in multi-crore financial assistance to curb the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic which has has severely affected people from all walks of life. The contribution of the industry in these two districts to the prevention and control of epidemics is exemplary for the entire country.

Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) President, Ramesh Babu said, “The spread of Covid-19 infection has caused a great crisis in the country. In such a scenario, the Government of Tamil Nadu is taking various measures for the benefit of the people. In support of this, the industry sector in Coimbatore district continues to do its part. Four stadiums are currently being converted into treatment centers on the CODISSIA campus. It is very welcome that everyone, regardless of whether they are big or small, continues to do what they can to help. Assistance will continue in the coming days," he assured.

Karthik, President of the South Indian Association of Engineering Manufacturers (SIEMA), said, “Entrepreneurs have always been more concerned not only with business but also with community. In times of a crisis like now, entrepreneurs are working together to support the Government in all matters and to support all measures taken by the Government. Entrepreneurs continue to provide a variety of assistance, including oxygen machines and immunization equipment, as well as feeding the poor amidst today's crisis.

On behalf of our Association and the Shadow Center, we planned to not only provide assistance but also catered first to 500 people, daily. Today we are feeding 4000 people every day. We plan to cater to more people in the coming days as we continue to get more entrepreneurial contributions. We will ask the Government and the people what help they need and we will continue to contribute,” he reiterated.

Raja M Shanmugam, President, Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) said, “We have so far provided financial assistance and material assistance worth Rs. 10 crore to the Government of Tamil Nadu and the district administration, on behalf of the entrepreneurs in Tirupur district. Our assistance will continue in the coming days. In the last one year, after the first wave of the Covid-19 epidemic spread, the outbreak of the disease did not have much impact as all the business establishments in Tirupur followed the Government Immunization Guidelines in a uniform manner.

But, unfortunately, the second wave of Covid-19 infection has had the biggest impact due to the negligence of people. We plan to act with greater emphasis on preventive measures in the coming days. Entrepreneurs will always be there to support the Government and the people in times of crisis," he added.
