E-registration cannot be obtained without proper documentation; Marriages dropped from emergency event category

Coimbatore: In a concerted effort to curb the spread of Covid-19, the Tamil Nadu Government has clearly stated that E-registration will not be granted if proper documentation is not submitted. The Government has also dropped weddings from the emergency event category even as new inter-district travel restrictions came into force on Monday to contain Covid-19.

The site to register for inter-district travel (https://eregister.tnega.org) allows only three options for using private vehicles. The site mandates submission of documents in proof for medical emergencies, elderly care and death and funeral rituals. The site mandates submission of relevant documents as proof for the above reasons.

Also, 'e-Registration' is required to ferry workers between states, and companies within the districts. All relevant documents are required to be attached with the application for travel permission to be granted.
