College professors decide to offer one-day pay for COVID relief in Coimbatore


Coimbatore: On behalf of the Coimbatore Tamil Nadu Government College Teachers' Association, as a coronavirus relief fund, the professors have offered to pay their one day's salary. In the first wave of coronavirus, government college professors have similarly donated their one day's salary.

Currently as the infections are on the rise they have offered to pay a one-day's salary. The state president of the Tamil Nadu Government College Teachers' Association Veeramani said, ''In the Coimbatore region, 600 professors working in 11 colleges have approved the decision. Across the state, more than 5,000 professors have volunteered to give up their one-day pay. We will inform the Director of College Education to make the deduction. He will then inform the treasury regarding this."
