Coimbatore: Even as Tamil Nadu’s Assembly election results were being announced on May 2,a curfew was also imposed on the same day to prevent victory celebrations amidst spiking Covid-19 cases.
Cadres of all political parties were also advised not to hold victory celebrations which would be regarded as violating the ban. But, on Tuesday, some people were seen celebrating on Vincent Road, Townhall, Clock Tower, Mettur Makaliamman Temple and surrounding areas.
The Ukkadam and Podanur police have registered a case against more than 30 people in connection to violating the ban on victory celebrations.
