Coimbatore: Coimbatore MP P R Natarajan, Coimbatore DMK North District Secretary C R Ramachandran and brick kiln owners met District Collector Nagarajan and submitted a petition.
Addressing the media later, MP P R Natarajan said, "The Collector was urged to maintain adequate oxygen supply in advance so that there is no shortage of oxygen in the hospitals across Coimbatore. In addition, the District Superintendent Muruganantham and the Health Secretary have already been urged to do so in this regard. Coimbatore Government Hospital and ESI Hospitals are reported to be short of oxygen cylinders and adequate oxygen supply is required to avoid such conditions," he added.
"Further, the District administration should act as directed by the Court in the brick kiln case in the Thadagam area. After an inspection of 30 days of the elephant trail, permission for brick kilns which are not on that trail must be allowed according to the Court order," insisted MP P R Natarajan.
