Hindustan Janta Party's National Organiser, Raghul Gandhi K lodges complaint with Coimbatore Collector citing an error in 100 EVMs at Coimbatore South Constituency

Raghul Gandhi K requested immediate action regarding error in 100 EVMs and asked for withholding of announcement on winning candidate until recounting is done

Coimbatore: Hindustan Janta Party's National Organiser and South Zone leader Raghul Gandhi K filed a complaint with the Coimbatore District Collector Nagarajan regarding a suspicious error in vote counting of around 100 EVMs at Coimbatore South Constituency.

"A recounting and technical hardware investigation report for the 100 EVMs need to be done before the elected candidate result is announced," complained Raghul Gandhi.

"The final results of the election contest which took place on April 6, 2021 were announced yesterday. Hindustan Janta Party contested at the Coimbatore South Constituency under the 'Cricket Bat' symbol. During the vote counting rounds yesterday, I was present at the counting zone along with other candidates.

The last round of counting was stopped due to some error in the machine. I have a doubt that some of the votes that were cast for me went to another person. I am suspicious of certain machines and I would want recounting to be done. I request you to take immediate action and stop the announcement of the winning candidate," he added.

He also opined that other candidates who participated in the election along with him, namely Nagavalli (Independent candidate) and Vellimalai (People Democratic Republic Party) also had the same suspicion.
