TN Assembly elections.2021: Rehearsal for vote counting held at GCT counting center in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Vote counting rehearsal for Assembly polls in Coimbatore district was held on Friday at the Government College of Technology (GCT) counting center.
The counting of votes is scheduled for May 2 across Tamil Nadu and Coimbatore district is all prepped up with the rehearsal for vote counting being done two days ahead of the actual counting of votes.
The Coimbatore Collector who is also the District Election Officer, S Nagarajan said, "The counting center has all the facilities required for counting of votes, including tables and electric lights. All desks are equipped with cameras to record the counting of the votes cast. A vote counting rehearsal was held today to ensure that no irregularities occur during the counting of votes and that the officials know about the procedures for counting of votes.
The rehearsal involved procedures of sealing the electronic voting machine, counting votes and uploading votes onto the computer. Election officials and Assistant Officers from all 10 Assembly constituencies in the district attended the rehearsal," he added.
